Biomechanics contributes to our quality of life through improvements in the healthcare we receive, the products we use and the way we perform physical activities.
The South African Society of Biomechanics is a voluntary association established to support the development of the field locally.

is to advance the field of biomechanics in South Africa by supporting high quality research and promoting the translation of research into practice.

to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge on biomechanical theory and application
to support training and education of student biomechanists
